    Don't be so quick to assume its celluloid. Could be Gutta Percha as well. Very sweet all around.

    I love hitting the antique shops. Not much worth having very often, but every now and then a guy gets to shout "BINGO"!!!

    After photographing it for eBay, I decided that it must be horn. I sure hope I'm right...

    They often are horn in that configuration. You hit the jackpot with the pressed fancywork!

    I wasn't prepared for old horn to be in such good shape, or to have such nicely beveled edges. There is obvious grain, though, and it's visible even in the bevels. The color loss, though, looks like horn. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
