    Default You Just never know....

About six months ago...I was at a yard sale and grabbed three nice razors for like $40...one was a Ibbertson, another a Boker King Cutter, and a razor I had never seen or heard of before until I just saw one currently on the Classified, a Solingen Holeka 70, while the one I have is a Holeka 50.

Here are the razors from the yard sale:

So had a shave today with the Holeka, which is the middle razor, blade is in great shape, scales look like bad replacements, but when I received it, it was excellent after a couple of passes on the CrOx...now since being honed it's awesome.

You just never know, an ugly duckling like this razor, turns out to have given me an above average, superb shave!

BTW, the Boker lost some area getting rid of that smile.

Point is, you just never know what you're going to find, a jewel in the rough...

    Thanks!

I've been to yard sales, estate sales and antique stores/shops....I've never been fortunate enough to come across anything that I thought worthy. Reading posts like yours, and I do, oh so often, is like reading about someone hitting the lottery. It's always the other guy.

    Good On You....all the best

You never know what to expect. I went to Hershey, PA and tried a few shops. I came away with a Faultless 7/8 in fine condition and an 8/8 Middleton that was just beautiful. Your time will come.
