"Professionally sharpened"
Okay, so I bought my first two straight razors and an 8k wetstone thinking I could sharpen them, I made my first thread on here about them and what I was told is that I'm seriously jumping the gun here and that I should learn how to shave with a shave ready razor first, so I decided I'll just buy a plain dovo from straight razor design for like 80 bucks, my question is that When that website says the razors they sell are "professionally sharpened", are they actually shave ready? Or will I still have to get it honed when I get it?

Leifericson923,
Yes, they will be shave-ready from 'StraightRazorDesigns'
The last razor I got from them (A Dovo Prima Klang), I shaved with straight of the box
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

Straight Razor Designs is owned by http://straightrazorpalace.com/members/lynn.html, founder of Straight Razor Place. Your razor will absolutely be "shave-ready".

Lynn knows how to hone a razor. If you look on YouTube you can find many a video of that same man trying to teach other people to be half the honemeister he is. Your razor will definitely be ready.

Your razor will be sharp from SRD, however you will probably try it and think it is not. At least that was the case for me. Until you develop your technique, a shave ready razor will feel dull. Again, that was just my experience. Follow the "'Your First Shave" thread here and good luck.

Thanked: 40Wayne you took the words out of my mouth.
I’ve been using a dovo from SRD for a few weeks now, its more than sharp enough (it still plucks hairs mid length from my arm) but poor technique and very tentative strokes mean that I’m yet to get a good shave out of it.
I have very course hair and the huge amount of feed back (compared to a merkur HD with feather blades) is taking some getting use to. When I do get a clean stroke there is absolutely no pulling of tugging.
On the upside the few strokes with the straight has drastically improved my touch, which has been evident when finishing with the DE.
Regards,
Neal.
