Thanked: 10Razor Emporium v. Bob's Razors
I'm thinking about buying a restored, vintage razor. I've heard good things about Bob's Razors. Has anyone dealt with Razor Emporium? Thanks in advance.

No I haven't. Based on some quick internet research by me, there have been some complaints about their restoration services in the past, but I don't think that applies to their current stock of vintage razors.
As for Bob...I think the world of him. Just purchased a goodie from him last week.
You may also want to take a look at the SRP Classifieds as well as Maximillian's website (madaspen).

Yes, I've dealt with both. I have three razors from Bob's Razors, and though they arrived as described (though I wish the pics on his sight were bigger), I did touch up the edge on two of them. He sends them out shave ready, but I found the edge wanting, for my taste anyway. I did not try to contact Bob about this, because for me, it seemed a minor issue that I easily took care of myself. I've bought one razor from Razor Emporium and it came shave ready. It was an old silver steel wedge. Overall, I was pleased with both services.

Thanked: 0I've met Bob personally and had him hone a couple of razors for me, I can vouch for his dedication to the craft. All of his restored razors that I have seen are in excellent condition. I'm thinking about taking one over to him since I live about 5 miles away.
