Thanked: 5Boker Fleet Street razor
So Boker is putting their name on a Sweeny Todd razor. They are referring to it as a pocket knife.
Boker offers Pocket knife Magnum Fleet Street Razor by Magnum by Boker as Classic pocket knife.
What does everyone think? Personally I think it kind of diminishes their name.
As a side note, I own the identical looking item minus the Boker branding. With a lot of work I have made it into nice shaver. You don't have to be insane to do the things that I do, but it helps.

I will say I kind of like the look of the blade, but new razors don't really call out to me as much.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

No thanks, I'll stick to my vintage Bokers.

Thanked: 12This item is the extreme bottom end of the Boker folding knife range. Don't know why one would post a low end knife in a razor forum. To each his own...
Their straight razors are the real deal, even the newly manufactured ones. I own and use six new ones. Good materials, well constructed, and they hold their edge well. I am trying to acquire three more.
If you want a Boker, and can't get a vintage to your liking, the new ones are every bit as good as the competition.
First post I have noticed that questions where Boker comes from. Can anyone elaborate as to why the razors might not be from Germany as Boker claims? Nice to know if I am the victim of fraud before I buy more....

I can't say much about their razors, as I don't have one, but I have a one of their pocket knives, and have given their pocket knives as gifts to family members. The one I have is designed by Neil Blackwood, the Pipsqueak. For a small knife it's a tank. High quality. Their titan line is also extremely well put together for production cutlery. Especially the Defender knives. I plan on getting the Titan Defender soon. Granted they also have a great deal of low end products which for the most part isn't so hot.

That's really sad. Vintage Bokers are fantastic razors. For a company to trash their brand like that is pretty stupid.

Thanked: 3164With regard to Boker modern razors, of the five I have honed in a space of 18 months or so I can categorically state that every one was a pale shadow of a vintage Boker.
That goes for looks, finish and edge.
One customer who only buys high end razors was so disappointed with the look of his new Boker blade that he had me rescale it in cheap scales and use the Boker scales on another of his razors. When he got the Boker back its edge holding was so poor he got rid of it.
Maybe the razors are better now but if this so-called razor knife is anything to go by, I doubt it.
Regards,
Neil.
