Thanked: 44Blued Wade&Butcher?
I found this W&B at the Flea market. I couldn't pass it up for $4. The horn scales show that this blade has had a long rough life. The blade is blued. The bluing looks to be better than a home bluing. There is rust at the pivot is on top of the bluing as is a few more places. It is etched Medium Size Hollow Ground barely. The markings are Wade& Butcher, Sheffield England and a what looks like circle B with a arrow pointing to a Maltese cross. Is looks a like worse than it is because of the bluing. I know W&B used England on the blades prior to the 1890 act. Is it a oddity or just a abused razor.
I figure worst case, I have a W&B to hang up with a few other finds
What do you guys think?Last edited by SS502MC; 11-15-2013 at 05:33 PM.

I'd say start cleaning her up,,,as you progress, you might be able to tell what the discoloration is.
Eager to see it after some cleaning time is spent on her.
More photos with close ups , please.
Thanks for sharing her.

Thanked: 44Sorry about that, I got it confused with Wostholm And Son. Picked up one of these also. Cost me a buck. They did mark England prior to the act.
