    Default Rust Spot? Pic attached...

    Hi Everybody,

I got my brand new Dovo Carre the other day. Unpacked it, cleaned it with a dry cloth and coated it in Camellia oil.

Took it out today for it's first shave, de-oiled, stropped, shaved and when drying I noticed the little spot above near the shoulder? Finger nail wouldn't budge it and it felt pretty solid. I'm not sure whether it's a rust spot or gunk from the oil. The tiniest dab of metal polish and wiping straight off has seen it gone without a trace but it really freaked me.

What do you guys reckon? I'm sure it wasn't there when I oiled it last night.

    Cheers

My guess is that it was a light water spot/stain. I get them on my Dovo BQ once in a while, but they go away on their own from regular stropping and shaving. I used to worry about it in the past, but I've gotten used to it, especially since it hasn't been harming my SR.

I've cleaned gunky camellia oil off my razor before, but I don't remember it being something stiff.
You can take the boy out of NY, but you can't take NY out of the boy.

Thanks Henry. It'll go for it's second spin tomorrow or weds so will keep an eye on the situation. It's a great shaver though, now it's nicely degunked I got some more pics of it.
