I am new to straight razors bought 1 now have 5 and 3 strops and Norton 4000/8000 the razor above R.H & Sons I cleaned and polished up
today thanks to Mr. Abrams video I found the scale to be thin material if you squeeze the middle of the scales the blade raises up is this normal?

Scales are thin and flexible so yes that would be normal if you squeezed the middle.
Not sure why one would?

Welcome! The name of the razor doesn't ring a bell but a picture is always helpful in trying to ID a blade. Sometimes there's something about the blade or scales that someone can see that helps out when nothing else will.
