Only have one Hess, a 44 stainless. and it will shave as well as my Henckels Friodur of similar size. All in all a nice razor.

I have a Hess NO.1 and I believe it is a 6/8 spike. shaves good but the spike is a killer. got me more than once. bought It new many years ago and still looks good. will need to hone before I use it again.
