Sage Blade Razors?
Anybody heard of this company. The razors look good but the spines look like they are uneven or something from the pictures. The reason I am asking is my wife saw one somewhere and said she wanted to buy me one. I only looked at the pictures that she sent me.

I have never heard of this brand. Are these being sold as new or are they, it, vintage? A photo or link may help in an identification.

Sage Blades is Dylan Farnham's outfit.
Awesome razors and knives. Available on CS or send Dylan a message directly through his site. He is very responsive and I found him a pleasure to deal with.
Did I mention he makes some fantastic razors? They are unique and great shavers to boot.
If your wife wants to get you one, I would say - can you have her call my wife and talk her into the same?
Here's one that I have. More to come in addition to a knife or three.
edit: just realized that this isn't my pic...I hope Dylan doesn't mind :-).

That is the same one she showed me. I was just concerned because the spine looked textured and wouldn't ride on the hone evenly during on x stroke. Also the handle doesn't seem very ergonomic to be. And his knives and razors seemed to have looked like more aesthetics over function. But if its good then I think I won't mind.

Valid concerns. I haven't honed the one I have yet - there was no need as it came to me with a wicked nice edge. I'll have a closer look but I'm guessing that the tallest ridges are symmetrical enough to allow the edge to sit on the hone properly.
Aesthetically they are a bit different. And not everyone's cup of tea for sure. I'd venture to say that many may be turned off by the obvious aesthetic differences to traditional razors. I stared and pondered for several weeks for the same reasons. In the end I'm glad I pulled the trigger.
I'll have to say the grip is without a doubt the most perfectly ergonomic I've ever had on a razor. I haven't figured out how to strop proficiently with it though as it is completely different than any other razor I've had. That is definitely a work in progress...at this point, it's like learning how to strop all over again. After repetition, I'm sure I'll develop the right form to handle it as any other razor.
As far as function, take a look at his site and look at his knives. While they definitely have his own stylish flair to them, I think you will find that in most cases they don't lose sight of their purpose. In many cases, as with the grip above, his designs attempt to accentuate them. He is a true craftsmen and seems to want to enhance the usability of his tools. He also has quite the imagination which he isn't afraid to use as a guide for developing new designs.
Anyways, just my 2 cents. Hope you enjoy it if you choose to go with it.

Yeah I don't care about whether it looks traditional or not I just want it to work. As long as it works I could care less what it looks like. So the looks of it would be an extra bonus. They do look good but almost a little over the top to me. I did look at his knives as I am in the market for a nice knife and I think if I were to spend that kind of money on a knife I would rather a Randall Made. One because I like those looks a little better and I live less than five miles from them.
Oh yeah and its my wife that will be doing the trigger pulling on that razor
