Thanked: 4If you want a kamisori, I can suggest the Iwasaki. Perfect craftsmanship

Thanked: 0Yes, of course. Thx. Problem is they cost more, don't usually come with that nice weaving around them, and can hard to get. I might hold out for one instead as the temptation of the Zensho sale has now passed.
However, if anyone's got an Iwasaki in good shape for sale then let me know!

Thanked: 0tburm, have you been using it without the weave? As for making it, isn't the 'old guy' that supposed to be making it now all but retired, with a less old guy taking his place? At any rate, I don't imagine too many people would be involved in making the Zensho, either. Maybe 1 to forge, 1 to grind and sharpen? Objectively, that could be better, if the 2 or more people involved excel at particular tasks.

Thanked: 4As far as I know, he still makes them together with a student. But I could be wrong. The Iwasaki Kamisori is without a weave, which I prefer (I think, since I've not had the chance to experience it with a weave)
