    Default Lee Mfg Co. ??

Greetings Gents! Went out on a quest to find new and different antique stores today and made out like a bandit!! Came across a store that looked like more of a junk shop, but walked out with three solid razors for $5 apiece! I'm familiar with the Joseph Elliot and the Camillus cutlery, but am unable to find anything on the Lee Mfg Co. The best I can come up with is that they moved from Germany to Chicago, but nothing on dates of operation or owner history. Just wondering if anyone has more pieces to the puzzle?
    Thanks as always,
    -Lippy

I just got a lee and asked the same question and this is what i got

Lee's Manufacturing Company of Chicago was a mail order type business, from around the turn of the century. The company used Agents to sell the goods from their catalog, somewhat like Amway.

The few razors i came across from this distributor were German a very common business at this point in time.
So you have a german razor made for Lee's probably somewhere areound 1920 +-.

I have a Lee Mfg Co. razor just like yours. It is a great shaver and holds a nice edge. Wasn't able to find much about the company either. Chicago Exporter. Nice German steel though. Certainly well worth what you paid for it, then some. Good score for you!
