I found another razor that I thought I could do something with. after pointing out that the blade was pretty rusty we finely settled on 6 bucks. I apologize for not taking before photos here are some of the after photos. I used fine emery cloth and then a dermal tool and buffing pads with some kind of polishing rouge my friend (a gun smith) gave me. after that I used the side of an indian red stone to straighten the edge. It had a slight frown . after all that I taped the spine and honed. 1K 3/8k then a 12k naniwa. to my surprise it shaved. this is a union cutlery razor. the razor did not polish up like I would like but useable. I was afraid to use the emery cloth to much the blade is thin. before I honed the razor I mixed hot water, detergent, bleach in the sink. taped the blade and washed the scales. after that I sprayed good with wd40 dried and rinsed with alcohol dried and oiled the pin. removed the tape then honed. Anyway here it is for your entertainment my last mess up
    pfries and RezDog like this.

I wish I could have gotten all then indications of rust out but was afraid I would break the blade with to much pressure. this antique has several razors that might be brought back but i'm not knowledgeable to know which would and which wouldn't. I started to leave this one. the same place I picked up a j a hencials (can't spell) it is a 89 1/2 4/8 blade and from all appearances this razor has never seen a stone or strop. no rust and very good scales. I would say new if it had a box. i'm watching one now on ebay to see how much I over paid.
