guess I'm a rust magnet
Attachment 148882Attachment 148883Attachment 148877Attachment 148878 went buy the junk store and found a couple of rusty razors. I didn't got before photos but you can see that this one was covered with the stuff. the good thing is the edge is good and the scales are ok. wish I could have gotten to it a little sooner. still I'm going to hone it up and try it. you know if the edge is good and the scales are good no one can see you use it. I have fun with these . I also found this one in the same store and can't make up my mind whether to hone it up or save it. I have looked at it close and can't see any hone marks. I knew if I left it there it to would rust away. tried to put the rusty razor on top and the good one on the bottom but didn't get it done .

I'm getting in some practice honing. I find these old razors and clean them as much as I can then hone and use. the honing is getting better. I need a little more practice before I work on less rusty blades. the razor that had the notch out of it and went from a 6/8 to a 4/8 actually honed up ok. I've got one more older blade to sand and hone. the Henckel was the worse the next is a bismark . to give you an idea how bad they we the Henkel was 9 dollars and the bismark was 4.50. cheap practice blades.
