Thanked: 1184I think you got a deal and I know your going to love it. Now, stay away from e-bay :<0)
WAit....You do have a barbers license right ? It says Barbers Use and I would hate to see you go to jail over a technical glitch like that.Last edited by 10Pups; 12-12-2013 at 02:51 AM.

Excellent!! Looks like a 9/8! And a square point...awesome blade!! It's a F. Reynolds, did you score it off E-Bay?

Luis, I cant wait to see what you do with your first resto project. I bet its going to be good.

Thanked: 118I cannot say enough how much I love vintage razors.
I'm caught between wanting to shave with them and not wanting to use up a very finite resource.
My compromise is I rarely use my Barbers', and really decorative razors. That means my plain old Boker, Henckels, Electric and Genco get used a bit more often.

Thanked: 4I can't wait to see how it turns out either! I am still undecided on the patina, satin, or mirror finish. I REALLY don't want to lose any of that engraving, and I don't know how much metal it would take off to get to that mirror finish. I'd love to hear some ideas for scales!

Thanked: 2027Looks like you have one bad scale on the show side, that can easily be replicated bye one of our pro resto guys, the rest of the blade needs very little.
Have one of our SRP resto guys do it,PLEASE

Personally I would not go for true mirror. That etch is too crisp to mess with.
As for scales, my opinion is old choppers require Horn or Amboyna Burl, with a classic shape. But go with what you like.

Thanked: 1184I showed you what I did to mine but yours is in much better shape. New dark horn scales is what I would do with yours. The blade really looks nice just the way it is but of course I do condone clean. The thing is, if you leave it, and use it for awhile, it will tell you what you want. If you polish it right up you can't go back.
