Default Bontgen & Sabin Solingen "The Mois"

I've just purchased my first straight razor. I know its a Bontgen & Sabin Solingen with the term "The Mois" stamped on the shank/tang, and it has celluloid sclaes, other than that I don't know the year etc

But i would be very interested to know if anyone has an idea on age?

BTW, if you don't get a reply you might seek out a user by the name "manah". He has a tremendous wealth of knowledge about razors, brands, history, etc. He may recognize it. Or you can check out his web page STRAZORS.com - all about classic razors - Home page. It may already be on his site.

Thanks, I've been looking at that site this morning funnily enough, I've found that the brand was used between 1900-1932, so between 81 & 113 years old!

I'm pleased with that, nice to know it has a bit of history.....I can see this getting addictive

    Great thanks :-)

I received the razor today and got straight into the first shave, a little apprehensive as I've never done it myself, but all good :-) took a little longer than normal though lol

And I must admit I want to shave to lot off once i'd started, rather than just the detailing/edging that I bought the razor for lol
