Hello everyone,
I am new to straight razor place and new to straight razors as well. I've been shaving with a Dovo shavette for six months and recently purchased my first shaver. I bought a Hart Steel razor and am incredibly happy with it. My problem is that I live on a Caribbean island so I will need to do all of my upkeep and honing myself. As I have never touched a hone, I am incredibly tentative on putting my gorgeous Hart Steel to a hone with zero experience. Because of that, I went to my childhood barber while home who happens to have a small collection of shavers. I looked through them this morning and picked up two that stood out to me over the rest so I could have some other shavers to add to my rotation and also have something to practice my honing skills before I ever need to put my hart to a hone. I picked up two fantastic shavers in incredible shape. They are:

Now to the point.

I have been trying to do some research on the blades I purchased today and have been running into a lack of information on the internet about these shavers. I understand that the Fromm Bros Red Head is a commonly sought after shaver in a different number (#50) but I haven't found much about #89.

I'm looking for approximate age, thoughts on the condition, which I should feel most comfortable practicing my honing skills on, etc. Thanks for the help and I look forward to being a regular in this community.
