Thanked: 0Info. on Boker's???
I am relatively new to the straight razor game. I am interested in Boker razors. My Dad had a great old Boker hunting knife so I decided to prowl around ebay for Boker straight razors. What I found was lots of different models that I have no clue about. Can anyone give me the rundown how Bokers stack up in comparison to other brands? Also any info on Boker straight razor models, specifically differences in quality, age, size, type of steel, etc. would also be appreciated.
thanks,
jlb

I've tried shaving with 2 Bokers.. A King Cutter and an Edelweiss. The Edelweiss was a very good shaver but the KC was one of true greats. If it wasn't for 2 more that I had lying around I would have felt sorry to let that one go. You won't go wrong if you pick up any Boker in good shape.

Thanked: 2209Bokers have not disappointed anyone. The Red Injun 101 and the King Cutter are well regarded. The grinds are bi-concave and very finely done. You picked a good brand to focus on.

As a matter of fact, there is a NOS that can be bought HERE on ebay. They are beautiful razors, as I myself bought one. I think this guy has had 11 of these to sell, and the starting prices started in the low $40s but now they are starting to hit the high $80s as they become more sought after. There must by now only be a couple of these left.
I had mine honed by Lynn first before it made it's way home to me. My wife gave me a shave with it two days ago, very nice indeed.

Thanked: 0great help...thanks
I appreciate all the replies to my post. I think I am hooked on this, my latest obsession.
Here is some perspective:
Sometimes I go overboard when it comes to a new hobby. Beermaking (beer drinking) gardening, running, music, etc. I have obsessed over them all. Now its straight razors.
But I turn on the television and Fear Factor is showing twins swimming through cow parts to chew the meat from the jaw bones of cow skulls.
When you compare watching that mindless garbage to my efforts to pass the time the choice is obvious...
sorry for the philosophy; just thought I would share

Yeah, I was a little put off by the price that they are going for now from that seller. I was able to buy a NOS Red Injun from another seller recently for $63. The truth is these razors are not all that uncommon, and one can get a much better deal on this razor even if its not in NOS condition.
