Check out this guy, his name is Willi, an old member here, he was my inspiration to get into straights(I'm going to get in trouble for posting this - AGAIN!)

Main reason I'm posting, is watch how he holds the razor for shaving different areas on his face, lots of technique here.

Now this is how it's done, IMO:

    Skills??

Yeah, stropping is very important. With funky scales like yours stropping can be much more challenging too, but you can do it slower and more carefully and you'll still get it done.
It looks like you're set for now - with more practice you'll get more use to the razor and shaving will be easier. I suspect that it's a bit scales heavy, and that would make it harder, but you'll manage.

    Keep having fun

LOL! I was very frightened! I was much better the second time, but still very intimidated by it.

Glad your second shave worked out a little better. A little fears is not so bad it will keep you from getting overconfident which could be worse. You could check out the shave wiki on this site, it has lots of info on different grips, strokes and angles for the different passes. Be very aware of where and what that spike point is doing at all times because they can easily bite you. Been there and done it. Have fun.

+1 on watching that spike point. When I fist got my harner it had a taste for my blood.
