    Default Razor quality judgement please...

Just picked up a razor that reads "SON & BROTHERS THE SULTANA STRAIGHT RAZOR GROUNDED AND MADE IN GERMANY " on the tang. Anyone out there privy on the quality of this razor?

    Thanks.

    - Brian

    Welcome to SRP Brian !
It looks like it will be a nice razor :<0) Very little hone wear but the edge looks like it will need some micro chips taken out of it. Although it doesn't say Soligen on it I still think other German razors are fine, They had different standards to live up too but still a nice razor all in all.

It's impossible to tell with nothing but a name. The condition is extremely important.
It's not any well known name, though, so you won't know until it's honed.

I found 1 that sold on the bay today. I am guessing it is very similar to that one :<0)

Could you post a pic? I'm interested to see your razor. The name sounds intriguing. Thanks

By the pictures you posted and the one found on ebay, of the same razor it doesnt look to bad, minimal hone wear, but i do see a small chip on the blade, easy fix, for the price paid a good Geman made razor.
