Default Anywhere else to find used/ restorable straight razors?

Besides craigslist, ebay, any good suggestions on where a guy can find used SR's around? Looking for restored or to be restored for my collection.

    Thanks.

Finding razors in "the wild" is IMO one of the best thrills in this sport.

Local antique shops, flea markets, estate sales, Craigslist, garage or rumage sales can keep you occuoied for months in your local area alone.

    This sums it up.

Typically you can also get them in antique or estate sale cheaper then ebay or Craigslist. Though this is getting harder the more popular SRs are getting as every antique dealer thinks they have gold now with every beat up broken SR they find.

Follow the obituaries in your area, and look for recently-deceased men, 80-and-older (Korea/WWII vintage). There might be a straight razor or two for sale.

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Knock knock knock... "Sorry for your loss ma'am, but did your husband use straight razors for shaving?"

I found a bunch at a gun show. Just have to keep a look out. Also at a gunshop that had a bunch of those really cheap and elaborate knives.

Go to a barber, get your hair cut (don't be freeloader). Talk about straight razors instead of weather/sports/gossip. NO telling what may come up. I was given a coticule this way. (granted he was my barber back when i paid for haircuts, and he remembers the day).

    Tip your barber.

Antique shops almost always have some straights. Here's my formula for determining immediately whether an antique store in question will have any:
    1) Walk in the front door.
    2) Inhale/sniff the air.
    3) Does the store smell like potpourri? If so, no SR's to be found, only over priced crafty junk, hand made candles in wicker baskets, etc.
    4) Does the store smell like dust and decay? If so SR's are present, though you may have to ferret them out as proprietors have most likely forgotten they have them. Pay particular attention to curio cabinets and display cases.

My last run about a week ago netted 13 SR's in three stores. Spent about a hundred bucks. All but 2 have turned out to be restorable.

    Good Hunting!
!! Enjoy the exquisite taste sharpening sharpening taste exquisite smooth. Please taste the taste enough to ride cutlery.

I brought a couple of razors to my old Italian barber after I asked him if he could help me with some str8 shaving tips and techniques. He enjoyed using my blades (although I think he felt they were toys), never seen one of my blades perform that way...make me realize how far down the learning curve I was and still am....
