Default Does anyone have a Boker Elite?

    Hi Folks,
Does anyone own or tried one of the new Boker Elite's? How do you find it? Any pics of different scale variations?
I'm a newbie to the world of straights. I realize it wouldn't be sensible for someone to go out and spend so much on their first razor but I'm allowed to dream right? Then again I'm often not very sensible and I sure love the look of this straight.Name: 140514.jpg

There is no such thing as sensible when it comes to Straight Razors....

This new Boker Elite is very similar to old W&B Elite. IMO.

I have found it is better to spend a little more money on what you want, than to compromise. Then you end up being disappointed and spending more money to get what you wanted in the first place.
On the other hand, is owning a lot of straight razors a bad thing?

Yes I think you're dead right there. It's funny but hearing it like that, definitely makes it seem more sensible to go and do something insensible.

If I had a partner that I had to try and convince, I'd be showing her your post.

Yes it is in the heel and how the blade transitions into the tang, It doesn't have the groove work along the spine though. Beautiful razor. Is it yours?

I don't have any experience with the Elite but I have acquired a good number of their current models in recent months. The craftsmanship and materials has been excellent and all shave well. They aren't cheap but if it sings to you, you are more likely to buy once, saving in the long run. The US site shows swedges running the length of the spine very different from the above W&B. Nice blades.

Here is some recent Boker horn:

Boy, you are picking at an open wound! I was fortunate enough to see a prototype of the new Elite last February and immediately ordered one. The picture does not do it justice; it is a beautiful thing indeed! Production was to begin in May. Around the end of May I was advised that was delayed till the end of June. The beginning of production was then pushed back to December.. and I am still waiting. It's like dealing with Microsoft, it'll be available Real Soon Now.

Grr.. anyway, I'm sure it will be worth the wait. BTW, I am told that the figured dark horn scales with nickel silver liners will be the only option although that could change Someday.
