unmarked wade & butcher
have been eyeing a razor at the local antique store but have been hesitant to buy it. the box says waden butcher but there are no markings on the blade or tang. it has horn scales that need some straightening. the blade is about 5/8 hollow with a slight smile that has been honed slightly flat in the middle. it is a heavy blade with a nice thick tang. it should clean up nicely but i'm hesitant to spend the money (around $25) because of it not being marked. sorry i don't have any pictures. What would you do?

Quite common for razors to be mismatched with boxes. From your description of the condition of the blade I'd pass even if it was marked.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Buy it TinTin,,,Waden Butcher was Wade's younger brother. He followed in his brother' footsteps & started making razors. The only problem was,,,Wade died before he taught Waden to stamp his razors; so there are several razors out there from the Butcher Family with no markings.
These unmarked Butcher Family razors are quite rare, snag them while you can.

Okay, after a little research i'm pretty sure your pulling my leg about Wades brother Waden. But i'm sure that's exactly what it says on the box. the price tag even said the same thing. You almost had me tricked.
