Thanked: 0Is there a problem with this razor?
Hi all,
Just a late night query about identifying if there is a problem at all with a blade I've recently come across. I'm hoping it's nearly aesthetic but I'm not wise enough yet, and thought I'd defer to the pros
There aren't any chips or the sort and the bevel seems fine, it just seems...off? It looks almost akin to ...water damage or something. Haha. Thoughts?

Thanked: 1936There may be a bit of water staining (normal on used razors), but no apparent damage...would like to see other pics. You need to look for cracks, deep pits at the edge, and of course discoloration from buffers & grinders. That is a full hollow razor with very little to no spine wear.

Thank you and God Bless, Scott

Thanked: 634I agree with shooter. The razor looks in pretty good shape. If there is no damage like cracks or chips it should hone up OK. Good luck.

Thanked: 13247if you are talking about the faint line just above the edge, that is most likely a soap line from long ago, at least that is what it looks like in your pic..
Unless the edge is pitted it should be no issue and is simply aesthetic.. a once over with some metal polish and a rag might remove it

Agreed with the above. Plus, it looks like the edge has a very slight smile (upwards curvature) , which might accentuate that straight line. Doesn't look like there's anything wrong though.
