no really
but joking aside, I'm of the start high grit and work your way down or up from there by deciding how much "character" you can stand to live with.
All by hand. to at least 2k grit, higher if you have it, then Blue Magic, set a bevel and proceed as normal.
I'm not a dremel fan, but would use buffers if I had them (soon enough yo).
also two words of hand-sanding wisdom: wine cork.Last edited by WadePatton; 01-25-2014 at 11:34 PM.

Those ones are really good looking razors
True framebacks for me, with a brass or copper-nickel back.

thanks for all the information from everyone. I do have 1 last question. Can you tell from the photos what the scales are made out of? I thought wood at first from the grain but i saw a comment about a similar w&b on another thread that said it was probabley horn. I dont know how to tell.

From looking at the scales from the pic, I can't tell if they're original or not. Original scales on a W&B like that could be horn, bone or bakelite (which is natural material ground down in later production years and molded into standard type scales so as to speed up / stnadardize production). I can't tell which they are. From the looks of the pic, the blade could even have been rescaled in some type of wood...just can't tell.
Other members here who have far more knowledge than around these facts I'm sure will weigh in.
Sorry...

It's a slow process trying to do it all by hand but it's getting there.
