Default Dating of this Joseph Elliot?

    Hi guys,

I'm new to the straight shaving world and just purchased this old Joseph Elliot razor. Looks super old.........was wondering if anybody could help me figure out when it was made. I plan on trying a restore with it.

The razor was made before 1856, when the company became Joseph Elliot & Son.

Judging by the slightly thicker than modern tails, I'd say around 1830.

I don't know... I have a lot of Elliot razors pretty much spanning the company's history up to the 1920's and I have none that're stamped '& Sons'. Was this mark ever used on razors?

That sounds about right to me.
