Seriously, I thought I would answer the OP's original question. As a razor is smiling, it is pushing the skin tighter as it goes. Away from the edge and making for a more efficient shave. If frowning, it pulls the skin into a wad and results in cuts and improper shave. Any razor with a frowning edge needs work and any razor with a (even slightly) smiling edge is much better than a straight one in my comfort zone. I ALWAYS hone toward a smile!

I believe the word "Cryo" is short for cryogenically tempered. Most stainless blades are so tempered and the ones I have seen have been marked Frozen Temper, Ice Tempered and Eishartung. There are undoubtedly more ways to say in more languages too. All have them have been great shaving blades.

I HAD a dictator in nearly NOS conditions until I let my brother try to buff out a tiny blemish on the blade. I don't think I've been that disappointed in a long time after seeing the resulting carnage. I won't post pictures because it is just too terrible to bring up. I will pawn internal organs to find another one. Still have the old one. Damaged blade and all.
