When I got back into straight razor shaving I was very much intimidated by certain razors. to be specific any wedge and the larger blades. I look back now and pretty much laugh at myself. I should have listen to a friend who told me to them a chance. It took several months but I got a Double Duck goldedge off the bay in 7/8 round point. I had it pro honed and shaved with it and that really started me in the larger blades. My friend that honed it for me sent me a George W? & son 7/8 near wedge. I had a set of scales that came off a broken blade (the razor that made that terrible ding sound) so I married the two. Honed it and loved it. since then I've acquired 5 more larger wedges and love them. what I'm really trying to tell people don't be intimidated or afraid of different razors or sizes. give them a try. You might just find a new favorite and really and truly isn't that what all this about?
