Enough to keep the stubble away..
14 not counting the ones I'm selling and the 3 that were eBay 'misses'. I made a razor box that holds 14 so if (when) I want another, I'll have to let one go :) Trying to keep it under control lol...at one time I had 40. If I keep up my current trend, I'll have a 14 day W&B set :p
Chris
2 razors and a Gold Dollar which is being rescaled. Can see myself sticking to that except i would be very open to acquiring one of those Wade and Butcher razors that could double as a falchion.
Two very cheap DE razors and a super cheap shavette compliment this, although i was unsure whether they would count.
I have 15 razors. Two seven day sets and one travel razor. None of my six sons has shown any interest in SR shaving yet. Hopefully they will see the light and start using a straight.
6 sons! Lord Thunderin' Jesus!
You better hope they don't start showing interest in SR shaving, otherwise, I forsee many straight razors in your future. "Dad, just going to borrow...", and suddenly, you have one old razor, sitting in it's stand, alone, with only one puck of soap as it's friend and an old, tired brush.....;)
I have been cutting into my collection hard, selling anything that isn't special to me. I got it down to about 30, plus another 5 nice blades waiting for scales.
11 straight razors, 6 vintage DE's, but that said, there's always room in the bathroom for more! ;)
around 50'ish like to keep it around there.
I have few around here some where?
Lost count. :hmmm:
Tim
About 40 - mostly German from the first half of the 20th century. I have some new Dovos, TIs, Hart, Ralf etc. I like to acquire old razors in NOS condition and hone them up to perfection and then oil them and put them in my drawer. Each week I pull out something I haven't used in a while or at all... I go through phases where I think I've settled on a favorite only to change up and start all over again. Right now I'm all about the Hart but I have a beautiful full hollow 6/8 Dorko on my sink counter calling my name...
I guess i have around 70-80 Razors but i havent counted them, 5-6 soviet Razors, around 30 french razors, a few british and american razors and the rest are german.
Whats RAD?
200 +/- 30 (there's a big box of 'to-sell' which has several large lots I've grabbed or stuff I got at local antique stores that didn't ever get input into my spreadsheet).
80 of those are from before 1840.
40 of those are from before 1830.
Seven. That is more than enough for me for the rest of my days, but i think that such 7-day set is ok. I could easily get along with two.
I currently have 2 razors in my rotation. A 5/8 Clauss and a 13/16 Wade & Butcher with another Wade & butcher on order.
And I have a lil AJ Jordan that I picked up at a Flea Market that I am in the process of restoring. Its coming out pretty nice but I think I may have put too much pressure on the lower grit sand paper and there are some scratches I cant get out. But not too shabby for my first restore.
All up I have 3 plus a gold dollar which is just for me.to play around.with, honing, re pinning etc. I made a box with 3 slots, so I never intend to own more.than that.
Hearing everyone's numbers, I feel much better now. I just have early stage RAD.
