Default Info on Toyo Scheon Burg razors?

    Greetings,
I recently bought a Toyo 665 frame back and having taken it today on it's first run, I am very impressed.
The it is really beautifully built and the quality is evident. Very nice balance with deep jimps, fits my hand wonderfully.

I tried to find some information of this make, but couldn't get much on the search engines beyond auction listings and BST posts on the forums, so if you know something of the company, please do share.

I know only one thing about them, and that is that they are great shavers

I own one as well. Same deal, great shaver and hones up very nice. Other than that, I know nothing else about it. The steel behaves really nice. No irregularities, no chipping. My only complaint (and its a small one) is that the tang is a little awkward in that its shaped a little odd. Its high and narrow. And that can make certain grips a little less stable. But that may just be me.

Toyo Hasimoto was the manufacturer of the entire series of razors AFAIK. The straights range from the framebacks through to full hollows and the series evolves into the 700's for model numbers. In my opinion they are simply amazing straight razors and while personally
i am not a big fan of any framebacks I have owned and still have many of the entire 700 full hollow series razors.
I am sure some of our more knowledgeable members will sign into help out with ownership/manufacturing details.

Take a look through this thread when you have time. You will see some beautiful examples of Japanese straight razors, both western style and Japanese style.

Stefan seems to be up to date on many of these Japanese models. He sold me the one I have so maybe he will have more to say about it. As for other Japanese straights, he recently refurbished and sent me an Eiko. Im not sure what to call it. It has scales like a Western straight but the blade is shaped like a Kamisori yet the grind is, again, western. All I know is that it hones up to take a magnificently sharp edge and shaves really, really nice. All of the Japanese razors I have are great shavers. Even one no name (FAVORITE) takes a great edge and shaves really nice. I've yet to find a bad one.
