    Also I found a Boker 5/8" Stainless Steel on a knife site I use and it is actually in stock. What do yall think about Boker SR's?

    Either the TI or Boker would be a very good first razor. I have a TI and a a couple of Bokers, I like them both but for me the TI gives me a little more comfortable shave. I would go with one from SRD, great folks, the razor you purchase will truly be shave ready, they ship extremely fast and you get a coupon for a free honing. Good luck!!

    Hang in there until you find what you want from a vendor that delivers real professionally honed razors. SRD & Vintage Blades are two I've used.

    Try Ralf Aust's which personally I like better than Dovo.

    I have a Böker, Dovo, and Ralf Aust and they are all great shavers. Check out the the Superior Shave. I have not bought from them, but several people on SRP recommend them. It looks like they have several razors in stock. My first was the Böker King Cutter. They have one with white scales for a very reasonable price.

    I too have TIs, a Boker, and several dovos - the TI is the best of the three IMHO.

    Thanks all for your help! I think I'm going to pick up the TI from SRD for a few reasons. 1 reason is I think having that initial honing done properly will make learning infinitely easier and less frustrating. My only concern is that from what I have read, I thought I wanted a full hollow but everywhere I've looked I cannot find a budget full hollow in the same price range as the TI so I guess I'll just go with the 1/2 and hope it works fine (which I'm sure it will as I won't even know what I'm missing lol)

    Good call - you can find decent full hollow vintage razors on eBay - they often need some TLC and a good honing though.

    IMO the best full hollows were made a long time ago - keep your eye on eBay and spring for one when you spot it...
