Default How to ship a razor for honing

Just wondering how I should ship my razor to be honed. I have some bubble wrap for it but I'm not sure if it should be in a box or a bubble envelope or what. How do you guys ship yours?

No, no, a silicone treated razor sock and an empty Colgate Toothpaste box, taped up so thoroughly, that you can hear the person swearing at you as they finally just tear everything apart in total frustration....

Foam pipe insulation is great. 1/2 inch for up to 5/8 and 3/4 for larger works great. In a 9x12 manilla envelope rolled up. Never had a problem.

You can also get those plastic travel toothbrush holders from a Dollar Store...wrap the razor in tissue and put it in a bubble wrap envelope

Or you can cut an 8" section out of your kid's pool noodles & stick it inside the hole.

I disagree. Padded envelopes are cheaper, and if the razor is properly wrapped, just as good as a box.
Plus, if it is a box, customs will want to take a look to see if taxes apply (if it is international)

To add to this good idea I oil the blade good and put in the coffin or if no coffin I put inside a ziplock bag and tape to the inside of the flat rate box so it doesn't rattle around. I have sent many razors this way. this way you get free $50 dollars insur. and a tracking no. If you add more insur then I think they have to sign for it and some times that adds to the difficulty to the person you send the razor to.
