Default Mint condition "Harmonie 99 Barbers Special" is it any good?

    G'Day,

This is my first post on a forum. I am new to shaving with a straight razor and have been using a Dovo shavette for 2 weeks now, I can't believe I have wasted so many years on that disposable junk.

I just found a razor for sale which I cant find any info on. The add says "..it is made in Germany and reistered harmonie 99 barbers special.."

Does anyone know if these are worth getting? any help is appreciated

It looks like a fine razor to me, and in excellent state! Make sure to get it honed if you buy it.

Thanks, that tipped my decision and I just bought it. I suppose I can't go wrong when it cost less than that shavette.
When it arrives in the mail I'll post some other photo's, get it honed and give it a shot.

A near-mint razor at less than a shavette's costs is a good deal Enjoy it!

Welcome to the great world of straights. Now you wll be in search for the perfect razor...... it may never happen, its called RAD. Very addictive hobby we all have. If it is not razors, its strops, or brushes, and or hones. Good luck and ask many questions. I have I think at least four different razors coming this week and am pretty excited about that. Have a great shaving experience and don't get flustered, not going to always be a great shave day.
I am very appreciative of all the knowledge and sharing each and everyone has provided me with. Look forward to future endeavors with many of you.

Welcome. There is a lot of information and helpful people around here. It is also helpful to have your location in your profile, it makes recommendations of where to find help at little easier.

Thanks Gonzo, I haven't had a bad shave yet. Even though I manage to cut myself every night I still look forward to it.
RAD must of already kicked in, I have 4 packages coming in the mail at the moment and trying to get more.
On the way is - The Harmonie pictured
    - A Eagle brand TI Straight razor
    - Wilkonson Sword Empire
    - Vintage Bengall
    - Rolls Razor
    - An old Barbers stand with round swivel mirror, brush and stainess bowl holder with a spirit heater underneath.
-And I'm trying to buy some fella's collection which includes a perfect boxed Rhodium plated Gillette Aristocrat No.66

I may end up broke by years end
