Well, it may be a while Bob. This all started a year ago when I had a chance encounter with a Boker salesman in a cutlery store, the conversation "somehow" turned to straight razors, and he whipped out an Elite prototype. Of course I had to have one. I've done business for some time with Country Knives in Pennsylvania ("Located on Hwy 772 near Intercourse between Paradise and Blue Ball") because they are big Boker dealers, speak German, and are into anything with a cutting edge so I contacted them & asked them to look into the Elite. They preorderd some, with the production date to be in early May. May along and production was pushed into June, then finally into December! About a week ago I called Boker directly and, in my miserable German, inquired again and was told that production was now scheduled for September. (With typical German precision he told me that production would begin September 26, 2014.
)
When I called Country Knives with this news, my contact seemed annoyed and called them himself. I don't know what he said - he said he "pulled some strings" - but they immediately sent one and only one by DHL express & he sent it on to me. It's not one of the prototypes since it has a serial number but is probably what he called a catalog model.
And now you know.. the rest of the story.

Oops, sorry for the late reply, Trimmy, I missed your post. They'll stock them when available. There is the possibility, now that we (and others I'm sure) have raised such a stink about the continuing postponement of production, that they might hurry it up a bit. You could always order one - at least you'd be next on the list. Good luck!
