    Default Look what I took.

One of my dream razors, and some nice stones. I got these at an antique store by my house. They usually never have anything shaving related but my wife randomly took us there and we were looking first thing I see at the front counter is the razor and a nice tag on it that reads $25. Minimal rust and only surface rust which I could scratch off with my fingernail. Then, as I am just looking around the store by the antique tools, I find tucked away in a rusty tool box that said do not open (which I paid no mind too) these cool stones which I ask the lady how much for them and she said $5 a pop. I honed the razor up on my 1k then the newly acquired coticule to see what it could do and what a dream shave. If the pictures don't upload give me a minute. My computer doesn't like this site.

Thanks guys. I stop by there about once a month. The owner has my name for when she gets stuff in now since I found these. I told her if she ever gets any more flat rocks or straights to let me know. The coticle is nice with the coli side being really hard and tough to make slurry. It will not auto slurry and is slow even with slurry. The bow side is softer and auto slurries quite fast within 3 laps I can see purple in the water. The barbers hone is nice but I don't think I will use it for razors. It seems a little rough however I will have to experiment with it. I did use it to sharpen some knives and it did so very quickly and shaving sharp in no time

That's a very nice haul! Nice blade on that Satinedge too, however the scales seem to be frighteningly close to descending into cellrot hell. Remember that they were water clear at one time.

Totally agree, very nice haul, might get lucky and find a busted up bladed satin edge online...or replace the scales....celluloid scares me...

Pop the inlays off and make some new scales.
