Yeah, I really like this Joseph Rogers a lot. I am definitely going to clean it up, and I may even slap on some new scales when I get the skill.

    Default Sheffield Steel

I guess I'm a big Sheffield Steel man. My first good comfortible shave came from a Bengall. Now I look for Sheffield Steel.

A couple of weeks ago, I finally broke down a bought a new Thiers-Issard 6/8 Sheffield Silver Steel, the singing one whatever that means. Took my time getting the right edge right and now I'm in dreamland. Man, they are nice.

Very nice. The singing refers to the sound that the razor makes when it is cutting your beard. I am pretty sure it has to do with the grind.

Also to the sound produced when you pluck it, but that's bad for the honed edge.

Yeah, that's why I didn't want to comment on it. It is a good way to test for crack though. If the blade is cracked then it wont sing.

Haha, true. I wouldn't do it to a good razor. I was strictly talking about possible restoration projects.
