Default History of a razor stamped L.J.A Surveyer Montreal

    Gents,

I restored this old Griffon Carbo Magnetic razor that is a family heirloom of a fellow Montrealer. I gave a her a light polish and cleaning, removed the frown and honed it, it took a great edge.

The razor is stamped " Made expressly for L.J.A Surveyer Montreal. This ignited the intrepid antiquarian in me.

L.J.A Surveyer was a prominent hardware retailler and his store was a Montreal landmark , established around 1893. His son Louis-Fabre Surveyer was lawyer who later became a superior court judge. His picture is centre bottom row.
