Default If you were going to purchase an heirloom

If you were going to purchase one straight razor to use and pass down as a family heirloom, what would you purchase?

All joking aside - In my case, it could be any razor I use. Hopefully, it'll be my whole collection including hones as no razor I own has any family history other than that which I make.

What's more important for me, would be to teach my kids to respect those razors I have loved in order for them to keep em after I die... Moreover, hopefully that respect will be passed on to their kids in order for it to indeed become an heirloom.

So if you had to choose one, what would it be?

Man that's tough. Really tough. I guess were push to come to shove, though I have plenty of really cool blades... I would go with my first(s). My Dovo Best and my coti. Crazy I guess, but that's all I ever wanted until the addiction took over - its the most "pure."

I reserve the right to change my mind lol.

I have 4 straights & a DE to pass on to mine
    my options in order
    1 My Heirloom from my Grandfather is a 6/8" GAMerx #250 &
    2 his Guilette #58 DE
    3 My 1st straight a 13/16" W&B 1/2 hollow
4 My 2nd Favourite (at the moment) a 13/16" W&B American Razor I restored full hollow
5 My 8/8" W&B fully original fairly full hollow

and any other one that any of of my sons or grandsons see fit to choose from my collection & use

Now if I was to buy a new blade, then I would like a shinny new custom Mastro Livi or for that matter,
any of the custom razors like so many of the stunning & absolutely beutifully executed one off personal “FOR THE LOVE OF IT” fine examples that I have seen displayed here time & time again that have been done by so many different members that anyone would love to have as there only razor.

Easy vintage Henkels Friodur. With a non eroding scale like mahogany.

It'll never erode due to neglect, Will never need oiling, and the scales should be good for 200+ years if sealed properly.

It would probably be best to have it pinned and scale wedged with silver just to help the longevity.
