straights
I have been shaving with straight razors for a couple of months, my dad used a straight razor since ww11, I never paid much attention to the art of shaving because I was just a kid watching him shave. now that I'm older, I have come to the realization that the ritual of shaving is more than one would expect, I am now realizing the respect of self grooming with instruments equal to surgeons scalpels,, I own three dovo's ,one joseph Rodgers & sons 13/16 straight and two gold dollar razors , the joseph Rodgers gave me the best shave.. I also have three custom razors being the Sweeney todd style with Damascus blade, still honing these as they are supposed to be shave ready .. but from my point of view the dovos are great but very impressed by the joseph Rodgers & sons

Those are razor-shaped objects not intended for shaving. Real damascus custom razors run about $1,000 or more. So, if it sounds too good to be true, it likely is.

Welcome to SRP
I'm sorry to break it to you, but do yourself a favour and stay away from those so-called Sweeney Todd Damascus Custom "razors"
They are 1. Not Damascus steel, only etched carbon steel of questionable quality. 2. Most of them do not have the geometry to even be able to take a shaveable edge, and if you're lucky to get one that takes an edge it won't even hold throuout a single shave.
For a real Damascus Cusom razor you will have to pay several hundreds $$
Rather spend your money on a vintage razor or two from the classifieds section, then you will be sure to get a razor that is shave ready and will serve you well for many years.Need help or tutoring? Check out the .
