I wanted to share a pic of this Karbon King razor from King Razor Mfg Co, Indiana Pa (SRP buddy hookup). I got an awesome shave from it today after Norton 1, 4, 8k and finished on this mystery stone I found in my grandfathers garage. The purplish red natural produces a comfortable shaving edge after a couple hundred strokes with diluted slurry. Notice the baby blue dot that appeared on its surface after a good lapping?

What about just a damp surface on the stone to finish with 20 laps,,,would it push the edge a little?

Thanked: 4827the purple stone intrigues me. Soft like a welsh slate or hard like a french hone. If you can get great shaves from it I suppose it doesn't matter. You will have to spend some time with it to get it to tell you it's secrets. Nice razor by the way.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

This stone is very hard. It's almost like my Zulu Grey. I've seen one like it on this thread, page 4ish. Maybe 20 laps would work...I'll give it a whirl!
