    Default Voss cutlery?

I just received a beautiful razor as a gift and I searched for them and didn't find much about them. Its a Voss cutlery Co. German design. It also came with was appears to be a cork strop.

As the old saying goes, " A picture or it didn't happen."

All I know of Voss is that name was stamped on Hen & Rooster pocket knives way back when. I believe it was before C. Bertram was stamped and I know it was before Gutmann. Referring only to Hen & Rooster knives. I'm betting if the Voss name is on it the razor is of high quality. Not sure but they may have been an importer rather than a manufacturer. Going by the pocket knife stampings.

Well, if its the one in great bolo's picture then I am afraid that it won't do you much good in shaving. See the problem with Hen and Rooster is that while they used to be a great company they were bought by frost cutlery which...well lets just say they don't live up to the reputation.

The Voss cutlery I am referring to is from 50 + years ago and more. Vintage razors and knives. If it is a newly manufactured razor, with the Voss name, I don't know whether it will be of the same quality of the old ones. Might be though, all you can do is try it.
