Default Any special method to hone a Fili Novodur?

Hi folks, i was wondering as the friodur are delicate to hone that the Novodur also requires a special honing proceedure. I would go with 2K Naniwa, 5K blue Belgian, 8K Naniwa, 12K welsh slate no slurry. Any comments? Shoulders taped or free? Cheers, Sebbi

Before going with a 2k on such a beautiful NOS I'd check if it really needs. Maybe the naniwa 8k and tape would do the job.
It's in your hands and you only can evaluate the actual edge.
Different saying, try the naniwa 8k first.

Have some stainless razors, including a Friodur, and hone them the same way I hone my carbon steel ones. Never thought they were delicate and needed a special honing regimen.

    Eh?

You could hone a Filarmonica on a breeze block and get a decent shave off it!

Stropping though is a different matter, I always go with the thigh of an 18 year old....I digress

    You got the Filly!

Just happened to check the Classifieds late last night and saw it, noticed it was gone, gone, gone, wow! Beautiful blade, as far as honing...my skills would tell me to wrap it up and send it to a pro, especially if it's going to get it's first bevel.

    Congrats!
