Thanked: 8Do you use a 7 day set of straights
While I have been checking out Straights and watching the videos as I am just about to order my first Straight, (a Ralf Aust 5/8th and a strop). I came across the 7 day sets which I think are really cool.
How many of you guys use these? Do you have pic's. I think I may have been bitten by the razor bug. Look forward to the pic's.

7 day set or not most of us here have a rotation of razors we use. 1 Razor is enough, but as most of us are addicts we have more. 7 day sets were good because its less wear spreading it between 7 razors, and end of the week the barber or user could prep the razors for the following week all at once from what I understand.
Personally I love 7 day sets, they were high end razors most of the time and very decorative.

I don't know about 7 day sets, but I love my 14 day set of Wade and Butcher straight razors!

I do not own a "7 day set" but my regular rotation is about 3 times that. I think I would get bored with 7 identical razors in a row.
The easy road is rarely rewarding.

Thanked: 8Yes gents, why limit myself to just 7, not that I have have got my first straight yet but one has to plan ahead. And then there would be the nice box or case to hold them.

Go to the Razor's forum under, Shaving with a Straight Razor, and from there, select the, "Gentleman's Set" forum, you'll see enough different sets of razor's to really stoke up your RAD, some stunning pieces of history there....enjoy.

Thanked: 129I have two 7 day sets just had one restored not used either yet, just enjoy looking at them. Also I never shave on Sunday, nothing religious, just being lazy, so that throws the week out and increases my stress levels!! Ha Ha!
No pictures tonight but maybe I'll post tomorrow.
Had a third set but sold to a gentleman in Italy, unfortunately they arrived damaged, one was snapped, fortunately took out full insurance and the courier paid out with no hassle.

Historically, 7 day sets were made for the well heeled gentlemen. They were usually top tier products aimed at the wealthy. The average Joe could never afford such a thing.

Here is mine. Oddly enough I never use it. I do have a rotation of very many that I go through, depending on my mood. There are many nice boxes out there if you look. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
