Thanked: 0William Hukin & Sons razor
Hi All
I'm about to buy this William Hukin and Sons razor off the internet, from the photos I can't see much besides some minor rust.My plan is to clean it up, hone and add to my usable razor collection.Help me out here from these poor photos, can you spot any obvious defects?
Thanks
D.

I think you should be able to get a good edge (from what I can see from the pictures), but you will have a lot of shallow pitting on the upper half of the razor and the tang. Scales look fine. Should clean up to a fine shaver.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Thanked: 0Thanks, I have won the auction and it is just about in the post.
Once I have received it, cleaned it up, honed and shaved with it, I will post some pics and give some feedback on how it turned out!
Ended up costing me R350 = ~ $35

Thanked: 0Warner & Co Razor
It seems that I was mislead by the box, it is not a William Hukin & Sons Razor at all but a Warner &Co.
I have cleaned it up quickly using 600 grit water paper, honed and shaved with it.
It really honed up very easily and is a great shaver!
The blade is quite heavy, even though it has printed "Extra hollow ground" on it
The scales seem to be made of ivory and the overall condition is quite good, hardly any pitting from the rust that was on it.
The pins are also still solid and in good condition, I'm quite happy with my find!
See the photos below and let me know what you think, also would anyone know a bit more about this razor?
How old is it, a bit of history, etc?
