The scales are kirinite. Curious that the material has such mixed reviews...I don't seem to have any issues with mine.

Make sure you post it in the Butcher Shop forum...the gathering spot of these wonderful blades!

Here's the real kicker: I'm finding that although it is an exceptional shaver, I'm not caring much for the grind. Because of this, I am thinking of replacing it for something full hollow lol

The wedges are quite nice once in awhile for me, I like the hollows, but it's a definite preference thing....beautiful blade though!!

It's a quarter hollow if I'm not mistaken

whether it is wedge or extra hollow or any grind in-between it's up to the person using it. I started out completely afraid of the wedge and anything over 4/8. Now I use pretty much any thing. I was told by a friend in the Know that I would have many different favorites before it's over. He was right. I now have 15/16 wedges - 4/8 hollow grinds and many in-between sizes that I really like. I just finished cleaning and honing a Wade and Butcher 6/8 Spanish point and can't wait to use it. if were you I would hang on to that beautiful blade and use something else then in a week or two or even a year you might strike up a love affair with that beautiful little thing. just a thought

I hear what you're saying. If I do get a buyer, I'll probably replace it with a certain NOS crown and sword :P I'm trying to put together my perfect 7 day set and being very discerning in my choices.

Good luck with that "perfect" seven day set, I'll let you know when I find one....hahaha...in all seriousness, with this hobby, the great thing and the great RAD instigator, is that there's always something new to try, something old to rediscover or a new way to do either, as our technique improves and changes over time. Cheers!
