Thread: New Tanaka Kamisori

I apologize if this has already been posted but I just found that Chef Knives to Go has a supply of Tanaka kamisori. Blue #2 and damascus!!! (just like my gyuto from Tanaka) I just ordered one I have had my eye on an Ito-Ryu kamisori there but once i finally got up the courage to take that plunge, it was gone. I am not in any way associated with CKTG except as a frequent and satisfied customer (knives, stones, accessories, etc). I just thought I would share since I'm sure there are others out there interested in trying a kamisori.

Razor Tanaka was never considered in the top line of Japanese Razors like Iwasaki. That doesn't mean it doesn't shave good of course.

Also don't know that I have seen a razor for sale from CKTG in many years.

Well, there's kind of a ranking among Kamisori. There are of course many many makers over time most of whom here in the West we have never heard of.

Of the ones we do hear of often Iwasaki is pretty much at the top of the heap though I assume there have been even better. Then you have Tosuke a step or 2 down and Razor Tanaka is probably a step down from that.

They are all quality razors and can give great shaves.
