Detachable blade Wade & Butcher set
So I came across this set on eBay and my jaw dropped when I saw the W&B stamps. Nice wide hollow ground blades too. Have any of you seen a set like this before? No Sheffield or England marks to help date it. Maybe on the other side. Anyone have any I for on this?

Without tang stamps there's not much to know. Lots of companies made these. Most of the ones I've seen date to the 1820's, and I've never seen a set with Wade & Butcher's marks on it, but that doesn't mean much.
Also, I see your ringer is turned up quite loud.-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.

Yeah, I can see how the Marines would do that!
I've gone digging around and found another W&B set similar, but it looks to be a good bit later than this one. But, like I said, it's hard to tell from the pictures here. I'd really need closeups of the blades to sort out much, but my wild guess based on shape would be late 1820's-1840's.-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.

I've seen more than one of those with W&B stamped tang, brass trimmed oak case, velvet lined. Ivory scaled handle with brass locking device. Say 10 years ago they were bringing maybe $500 for a nice set on the bay if it was complete, the scale wasn't cracked and all of the blades were in good shape. I've never owned one myself. Robert A. Doyle (Straight Razor Collecting) places them in the early 1800s but not before. The problem with that set for me, is the original case being replaced with that wall hanging deal. Anyway .........
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
