Eynlai,,,the "Library" section is your best friend right now,,,,tons of information there & videos,,, why short yourself waiting for replys from a single thread.

Use the "Advanced" search button(Not the GOOGLE search box), above right, put in key words 'scale restoration,,,,this will give you the threads that discuss in detail scale restoration.

I agree the sandpaper is the way to go.

probably if you used the dremmel it's not the forehead I'd be worried about it's your eyes. It's never too many times to repeat, whenever you use a dremmel or any other power tool like that always wear good eye protection.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, guys. I just got back from Ace Hardware and a auto store with the following goodies: bag of Grade #000 Steel Wool; 150 grit emery cloth sheet; 400 grit; 600 grit; 1500 grit; 2000 grit and finally... Maas metal polish to be used last. I guess I got some reading up to do in the Restoration section.

nearly a week later + 90% elbow grease with sandpaper + 10% CAREFULLY with a Dremel and safety goggles... And I just finished honing myself 20 minutes ago. I'm waiting for the 12,000 grit Nanaiwa stone that i just ordered to arrive before I put blade to my ugly mug. As you can see, I didn't get all of the rust out, but I know I'm no Max Sprecher.Name: 20140502_131313[1].jpg
