Thanked: 522Fontenille razor
________________________________
I found this Fontenille brass frameback razor at the bottom of the pile recently. Not sure where I got it but decided to hone it and see how it shaves. Well, it shaves great and is easy to manipulate.
Can anyone help with the history of Fontenille razors. I have heard the name but don't know anything about the brand. I will appreciate any info regarding this razor. Thanks.......JERRY
OOOPS! Pass the styptic please.

It's a maker from Thiers in France, in buissness arrround 1850 till 1970 I guess. His number in the table of registration of Thiers was "134", before the mark was also a sabot (a wooden shoe)
they are quite commun here in France

Sorry MrSell, I don't want to "jack" your thread but this is all very interesting.
It surprises me that in this condition it could be that old?
