I bought my wife a Merkur, different model, and she loves it...now if only she would start buying her own blades.

Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Maybe a leg shaver will happen along, I'm not but just a thought - a longer handled one (Feather appears to be longer) might be easier to reach with, unless you plan on doing the shaving ... Seems that those old Lady Gillette featured the longer handles. Also, the Popular is a Turn to Open design, which a neophyte may find easier to use. Plus Feather is in my experience of generally better quality than Merkur, though I haven't had that model in hand.

Go with a Merkur. SWMBO has one and loves it too.

I have the heavier Stainless Steel Merkur and like it a lot. For the price it is amazingly solid and well finished. I'd call them a "best buy".

Might want to look at vintage Gillette razors. Do a search for Lady Gillette and the "Knack" razor. Both are long handled for ease of shaving legs. I have seen both of these on Etsy and E-bay. Probably easier to bit the $30 range as well.

Thanks everyone for the help! I did look into the Gilettes, but I decided to go with a Merkur. SRD had one that was the same as what I was looking at, but a long handle version for just a few dollars more.

My wife asked for my DE after I switched to a str8. She's been shaving with it ever since and likes it a lot.

My wife is scared of the DE, let alone my shaving with straights now. She cut herself pretty bad, trying her dad's DE and hasn't wanted to taste that again, lol. I keep trying though; are the ones recommended pretty "safe" and offer great closeness or is that a misnomer?
